About Us

The Center for Children and Families historically accomplished its service goals in three primary ways. The first is through the administration of endowment funds to create annual regional workshops and seminars designed to meet the needs of families with children. The second area of service for the Center is the administration of the Early Childhood Education Center which is a laboratory school for children ages 3 – 4. The third field of service for the Center is the coordination of community service activities by faculty members and student groups in the School of Human Ecology. The Center primarily focuses on tasks that have an immediate need to be met.

Purpose

The Center was formed to help meet the changing needs of many different types of families. Established in 1983 by the Board of Regents, the Center for Children and Families has been coordinating and providing service to the local and regional community since its inception.
