Xi Sigma Pi National Forestry Honor Society

Xi Sigma Pi is the national forestry honor society. It strives to secure and maintain a high standard of scholarship in forestry education, to work for the improvement of the profession, and promote fellowship of those involved in the field of forestry. Membership is by invitation to students demonstrating superior scholarship (3.0 grade point average or greater and at least 60 hours of earned credit), leadership and dedicated service to the profession.

Recently, Xi Sigma Pi initiates were honored at an initiation and banquet. The initiation and banquet were held at Lomax Hall. Approximately forty people attended. Guests included: ANS Dean, James Liberatos, Retired ANS Associate Dean, Dr. Ray Newbold, Retired School of Forestry Director, Dr. John C. Adams, School of Forestry Faculty, Spouses of Faculty, School of Forestry Staff, parents, and resident Xi Sigma Pi members. Plaque winners were: first place, Jared Allement, who won a dinner for two at a local restaurant, second place, Cody Garrett and third place, Sara Sims. A special thanks goes out to our Forester, Michael Guilbeaux who conducted the program and the resident Xi Sigma Pi members who came early to set up for the banquet, conducted the initiation, and cleaned up after the banquet.
