Installation of Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society

The School of Biological Sciences is proud to announce that on April 13, the Delta Alpha Delta Chapter of the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society was installed at Louisiana Tech University. In addition to the chapter being installed, founding members and officers were also initiated into Beta Beta Beta. Dr. Ali Azghani, the District Director for the South Central Region of TriBeta, traveled from the University of Texas at Tyler to install the chapter.

Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) is a national biological honor society dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. Since its founding in 1922, more than 200,000 persons have been accepted into lifetime membership, and more than 626 chapters have been established throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Membership is open to students in the School of Biological Sciences that have reached the sophomore classification with a minimum GPA of 3.3.

The Delta Alpha Delta Chapter of TriBeta plans to have many chapter activities such as guest speakers, professional school workshops, career panels, faculty/students social events, and community service projects. In addition, there will be opportunities for members to hold officer positions, apply for scholarships, attend regional and national conventions, submit undergraduate publications in a peer reviewed journal, and more.
