Arkansas has many interesting caves.  A few have been developed as tourist attractions, while many others are relatively unexplored.  The Bio-Speleology class explored an undeveloped cavern called Alexander Cave, which is located near Mountain View.  This cave is difficult to enter because the entry involves a 40-foot vertical chimney climb.  The many fascinating and spectactular speleothems in this cavern made the difficult climb well worth while.  Listed below are some developed show caves in Arkansas.

bulletBlanchard Springs Caverns are 15 miles Northwest of Mountain View in the Ozark National Forest.
bulletSpanish Treasure Cave is located north of Gravette on highway 59
bulletBull Shoals Caverns are  4 blocks from the center of the town of Bull Shoals.
bulletCosmic Cavern is 7 miles North of Berryville.
bulletHurricane River Cave is 16 miles South of Harrison.
bulletMystic Caverns are 8 miles South of Harrison.
bulletOnyx Cave is near Eureka Springs.
bulletWar Eagle Cavern is midway between Eureka Springs and Rogers.
