Nutrition and Dietetics

Improving the nutritional status of individuals, families, and communites.

The mission of the didactic program in dietetics is to prepare students to enhance the quality of life of individuals, families and consumers through education, research, and service in the areas of nutrition and food systems.

Are you interested in health and wellness, nutrition and food science, nutrition therapy, or food service management? Consider a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.

The dietetics program includes human anatomy, chemistry, biochemistry, physiology, nutrition science, and medical therapy.  The program provides students with expertise in human nutrition, food systems management, diet therapy, community nutrition, and experimental methods in food science.

The dietetics undergraduate program is designed to prepare students to become registered dietitians. Dietitians promote good health by improving nutritional practices of individuals. Dietitians provide nutrition education and develop individual diets in clinical, community, and food service settings.
