Recommended courses to be completed at the community/local college include:
 
·                    English Composition I and II (6 hours)
·                    British or American Literature (3 hours)
·                    College Algebra (3 hours)
·                    Statistics (3 hours)
·                    Speech Communications – public speaking (3 hours)
·                    Anatomy and Physiology I and II, with labs (8 hours)
·                    Inorganic Chemistry with labs (8 hours)
·                    Intro to Organic/Biochemistry (3 hours)
·                    Microbiology, with lab (4 hours)
·                    General Psychology (3 hours)
·                    Social Science electives (6 hours)
·                    Fine Arts – music, theater, dance or art appreciation (3 hours)
·                    World History 1500 – present (3 hours)
·                    General Biology for Science majors with labs (8 hours)
 
Note: In order to be ready for upper division medical technology courses at Louisiana Tech University, you must, complete 64 hours of required course work in advance and you must have a curriculum GPA of 2.70 or higher, with no grade lower than a “C”.
 
If you are taking courses at a university or community college in the state of Louisiana, you and /or your current advisor can check the Board of Reagents Master Course Articulation Matrix, available on the Board of Regents website at: (http://www.regents.louisiana.gov/pdfs/Academic?Articulation%202009-2010/Master%20Matrix%20Master.pdf), to determine the equivalency of general education courses at your college/university to those at Louisiana Tech.
