Karen is a native to North Louisiana, where she has resided for most of her life. She received a BS in Medical Technology, and later completed her Master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance with concentration in General Counseling at LouisianaTech University. Karen’s clinical interests include personal growth and development, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, stress management, and relationship concerns. Karen also helps with crisis/suicide prevention and is completing EMDR training. Karen has a passion for helping students adjust to college life and become successful in their academic endeavors. Karen also enjoys teaching and being a supervisor to Provisional Licensed Professional Counselors, as well as Master- and Doctoral-level interns. Karen’s theoretical orientation is humanistic, consisting of client-centered and existential theories. Karen also employs solution-focused brief therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mindfulness. In Karen’s free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, watching mystery movies, and traveling.
