Annabelle Grounds chose environmental science to combine her passion for conservation and sustainability and turn it into a profession. Louisiana Tech’s curriculum gave her the option to chose the electives she wanted and direct her focus to a more specialized area.
“I grew up in Northwest Florida and moved to North Texas a few years ago and heard about Tech at a career fair there,” Grounds said. “With Tech being somewhere between the two, geographically, it became an easy choice to balance family life with school.”
After graduation, Grounds will begin work in Bogalusa with International Paper. She will be a procurement forester and manage the beginning of the supply chain for corrugated packaging production.
Grounds advises future students to do their best in college.
“You will never regret trying your best,” she said. “College is just a four-year-long interview and you never know who will notice your hard work.”
