Chelse White, who is originally from Archibald, became interested in the field of nutrition after she enrolled in a nutrition course during her sophomore year at Mangham High School.
“The course was challenging and intriguing, piquing my interest in how I could further my education in this area,” White said. “Dr. Janet Pope reached out to me my senior year to welcome me into the School of Human Ecology once I declared my major in Nutrition and Dietetics. I completed my BS in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2010 and received my graduate certificate in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2011.”
White obtained her MBA in 2020 from Louisiana State University in Shreveport.
“As a kinesthetic learner, I loved the food lab and experimenting with recipe variations to improve overall nutrition of products,” White said. “Mostly importantly, the friendships and relationships created with peers who have now turned colleagues and professors left a profound impact on my personal and professional life that I will forever be grateful for.”
White currently lives in Choudrant and works at Glenwood Regional Medical Center as a clinical dietitian where she works in the Intensive Care Unit with critical care patients.
“Not only do I get to work alongside some many beloved disciplines of healthcare, I am also able to mentor and precept Louisiana Tech dietetic interns within their clinical rotations,” White said. “I enjoy being able to pour into these students and help foster an excitement for the clinical setting, especially critical care.”
