Metairie native Conner Killian is a senior in Forestry who is also pursing his Master of Business Administration at Louisiana Tech.
He’s a student-athlete who competes in Cross Country, Indoor Track and Field, and Outdoor Track and Field for the Bulldogs. As a student-athlete he was a three-time Conference USA commissioner honor roll recipient and three-time Conference USA academic medalist, received the Conference USA Spirit of Service Award, and was awarded the presidential award for athletics. Killian also won the Jimmy Collins Special Award presented by the All-State Sugar Bowl for his community service work done following the April 25 tornado that hit Ruston and Louisiana Tech.
Killian is also a member of the Forestry Club, the Society of American Foresters and the president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Heis an ambassador for the Forestry program and a scholarship recipient of the Louisiana Forestry Association (LFA), Forest Landowner Foundation (FLF), Railroad Tie Association (RTA), and the Dr. John C. Adams Scholarship.
Killian has also presented his research poster “Invasive Species along the Rock Island Greenway” at the Louisiana Society of American Foresters Annual State Meeting and the College of Applied and Natural Sciences Research Symposium placing first. He also won first place in Compass and Pacing at Forestry Conclave. Killian completed internships with both Resource Management Services (RMS) and Weyerhaeuser.
He plans to graduate with a Forest Management degree in Spring 2020 and complete his MBA in Summer 2021.
