Bastrop native Foram Patel is a junior Biology major speaks three different languages and works with Dr. Jamie Newman on research projects in the School of Biological Sciences at Louisiana Tech.
“After falling in love with Biology in high school, I came to realize – what better way for me to combine science and service than by applying the science of the human body to improve the health of others,” Patel said. “This attracted me to a career in medicine, and I knew I wanted to major in Biology to pursue that career. I also have interests in Chemistry and Psychology, so I decided to minor in those two subjects.”
Patel chose to make Louisiana Tech her home because of the comfort and coziness of campus as well as “because the School of Biological Sciences is simply amazing! Along with numerous opportunities in research, leadership, and various interest groups, the SBS is home to dedicated and caring professors and instructors who have helped many students like me reach their full potential.”
Patel holds leadership positions within the SBS Student Ambassadors and the pre-medical student organization MAPS.
