Will Ford is currently a Doctoral Candidate at Louisiana State University working towards a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Brass Performance. Prior to attending LSU, Will earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies from James Madison University and a Master of Music degree from Western Michigan University. Will has enjoyed success as a performer by winning the principal trombone position as well as being a featured soloist with the American Wind Symphony Orchestra for their 60th and final season. He has also won and been a finalist in the Western Michigan University and James Madison University Concerto Competitions, respectively. While at WMU, Will was a member of the Jazz Ensemble and Advanced Jazz Combo, which won Downbeat Magazine awards in 2017 and 2018. Will is an active performer and educator in Louisiana, performing with the Baton Rouge and Lake Charles Symphonies and teaching a private studio in Baton Rouge. His primary teachers include Dr. Andrew Lankford, Dr. Chuck Dotas, Dr. Steve Wolfinbarger, and Dr. Hana Beloglavec.
