College of Applied and Natural Sciences to hold AHEC Day

Louisiana Tech’s College of Applied and Natural Sciences will host the Area Health Education Center Day Wednesday, Feb. 8. Students from area high schools will have the opportunity to talk with faculty and students regarding information about nursing and allied health programs offered at Tech. They will also receive a tour of Tech Farm. The day will begin at 8:15 a.m. in George T. Madison Hall, Room 301, with a welcome from Dr. James Liberatos, dean of the college, and students then will visit the Nursing Skills Lab, have a tour of campus and discuss admissions.  A full schedule of the day’s events is listed below. 8:15 a.m., GTM 301 – Welcome from Dean Liberatos 8:30 a.m., GTM 301 – Talk from the division of nursing faculty 8:45 a.m., GTM 329 – Nursing Skills Lab visit 10 a.m., GTM 301 – Discussion of health informatics and information management majors and careers 10:30 a.m., GTM 301 – Discussion of medical technology majors and careers 11 a.m., GTM 301 – Tour of campus, discussion of admissions 1 p.m., Carson-Taylor Hall, Room 156 – Discussion of human ecology majors and careers 2 p.m., Tech Farm campus – tour of Tech farm and discussion of animal science majors and careers
