COLLEGE OF APPLIED & NATURAL SCIENCES

School of Biological Sciences

The School of Biological Sciences offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs that utilize interdisciplinary learning, practical lab work, field work, and field trips to educate students whose future work will be indispensable in meeting tomorrow’s challenges and opportunities in biological sciences.

The undergraduate student enrollment in the School of Biological Sciences is one of the largest on the Louisiana Tech campus, with approximately 500 undergraduate students. Approximately 45 graduate students are enrolled in degree programs within the School.  We have about 20 faculty members, most of whom are involved in research activities. Many of our research activities involve undergraduate students as well as graduate students.

Undergraduate studies

Bachelor of Science (BS) degrees are offered in Biology, Environmental Science, and Medical Laboratory Science. Minors are available in Biology and Environmental Science. Research opportunities are available to undergraduate students interested in obtaining research experience, students can contact individual faculty members to discuss their interests.
