The Applied Biology Concentration is often selected by students with a broad interest in biology or an interest in pursuing a career in allied health-related areas but who do not choose to pursue medical or dental school. The study of Environmental Science prepares students for career opportunities in an expanding job market that is geared toward finding solutions to environmental problems. Tech’s program offers flexibility by providing strong foundational training along with a customizable course component. These degrees are among the most flexible in the scope of careers; students are strongly encouraged to work with an advisor and with the faculty to develop an individual study plan that will prepare the student for specific professional goals. Graduate Opportunities
Environmental Health prepares you for postgraduate study (M.A., M.S., Ph.D., J.D.) in Biology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Conservation Biology, Environmental Law, Environmental Policy, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Mathematics and Statistics, Natural Resource Management. Plus any other area of academic specialization with a potential environmental component, from business, communications, or economics to geography, journalism, and sociology.
Medical Technology
Louisiana Tech’s program in Medical Technology is designed for students preparing for careers as clinical specialists who design, perform, evaluate, and supervise biological, chemical, and other clinically related tests. Educational programs in this major include three years of pre-professional work on the Tech campus; the senior year is completed in one of six Tech-affiliated, hospital-based clinical programs, and admission is competitive.
