Biography
Dr. Earl is an Associate Professor in the School of Biological Sciences. She teaches in the Biology and Environmental Science degree programs. Dr. Earl has always been interested nature and environmental issues since playing in the mountains of North Carolina as a child. She has deepened these interests through her research and service. Her lab focuses on amphibian conservation and connections between pond and forest ecosystems. She is particularly interested in the effects of tree leaves and their chemistry on aquatic ecosystems. Dr. Earl mentors undergraduate and master’s students to do research within her lab. Dr. Earl is also the faculty advisor for Students for Environmental Action (SEA) and the community environmental organization Green Ruston with the goal of increasing sustainability on Louisiana Tech University’s campus and in the city of Ruston.
