The DI program starts each year in the Fall Quarter with that year’s cohort. If applying for early admission (to guarantee a spot in the following fall cohort) you will need to submit your application on DICAS for LA Tech by Oct 1. Notifications will be made to students who are selected for early admission acceptance by Nov 1.  (Early admission is limited to approximately half of the cohort, up to ~ 10 students.) 

Candidates not selected in the early admission process may still be accepted for admittance to the program at the Spring deadline. Regular applications for Fall 2025 admission will be accepted in DICAS through February 1. Notifications of acceptance into program will be made to students by March 1.

Applicants interested in applying for the early admission option will provide the requested information into DICAS including:

• Experiences
  • Academic
  • Employment
  • Volunteer
• Provide a personal statement (1000 words or less) to include the following information.
  • Why do you want to enter the dietetics profession?
  • What are some experiences that have helped to prepare you for your career?
  • What are your short term and long term goals?
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses or areas needing improvement?
• 3 Letters of References
  • One work/volunteer reference
  • Two academic references
