Dietetic Internship

You’ve come this far in your career, so where to next?

Let Louisiana Tech’s Dietetic Internship Program show you what you can do in a career of nutrition and dietetics!

The program features a 95 percent pass rate on the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) exam within 12 months of completion of the internship, with many of our interns finding employment in their rotation sites.  Our internship provides a unique opportunity to continue in the pursuit of your goal of becoming a Registered Dietitian through its ACEND-accredited dietetic internship with an emphasis in Medical Nutrition Therapy.

You will spend the first quarter of your internship getting to know your peers and instructors in classroom experiences before the start of your Fall quarter in your designated city. The program ensures that all of its graduates are well prepared for the next step in their career through a wide variety of rotations and preceptors, including preparation for the CDR exam. From diabetes camp to clinical rotations, the program strives to let every intern see just what they are capable of at the end of the 11-month internship. Additionally, seminar classes allow for the students to share their experiences and knowledge with their peers while fostering life-long friendships and professional-relationships.

Louisiana Tech provides a hometown feel with extraordinary experiences. Our internship is also a cost-effective program both academically and geographically. Online courses during the internship allow for students to work towards earning their Master’s (thesis or non-thesis options) while building upon the information they are learning and applying at rotation sites. Because the program has incorporated three hours of graduate course work each quarter, eligible interns are able to receive financial assistance through FAFSA with many scholarship opportunities. Upon completion of the internship, each student will have earned 15 hours of graduate credit towards a Master’s degree. Class flexibility and online courses make Tech a fantastic option for completing their Master’s, no matter where in the United States they may end up!
